New Hardcover Book
The last blog talked briefly about our limited ability to get everything done on time, and there are in fact two books stuck in the production process: Biker Math and Motorcycle Wiring. For anyone waiting on one of these titles, we hope to have them finished and ready to ship later this summer.
For fall, we have an ambitious group of books planned, and some are actually partly finished. Bonnneville, World’s Fastest Motorcycle is in the midst of layout. Jacki, resident graphic artist, is busy placing images on the pages before the book goes back to the author so he can install the copy and captions. The author in this case is talented photographer Hörst Rosler and the book is a hardcover, 10X10 inch edition. With the wonders of computers and email, we are able to send Hörst the layout in PDF format, have him write in the copy and then email it back to us. We are trying to get this to the printer in time to have a few advance copies ready during Sturgis week.
Summer is Here
Summer came early to Minnesota this year, complete with heat, humidity and seasonal storms. Though the air conditioning is on in the office, I hate to complain. There’s just something wonderful about riding along on a summer’s evening without a jacket, parting the air with my body, passing bike after bike. The evening heat seems to impart energy and I often find myself extending the day’s ride or simply hanging out the yard after retuning for the night, watching the fireflies light up the river bottom near the house.
One of our favorite haunts remains Muddy Waters in nearby Prescott, Wisconsin. Last night we enjoyed the blues piano of Scotty Miller while sitting on the deck, overlooking the St. Croix River and the bikes in the parking lot.

Bike Show
Summer brings something else to Minnesota besides the warm weather, lots of motorcycle and car events. Last weekend Rick and I attended the Antique Motorcycle Show at the State Fairgrounds in St. Paul. Long held in a smaller town south of Minneapolis/St. Paul, this was the first year in St. Paul and the turnout was great. The inside of the main building was filled to the brim with old cycles and scooters and special attractions like Steve Hamel’s record setting Bonneville Vincent.

Continuing Phone Blues - With a Happy Ending
When we moved recently I had the bright idea of using internet telephone service, said to be the equal of land-lines at a fraction of the cost. Anyone who’s tried to call us recently knows that getting through to Wolfgang Publications was difficult at best. Though the process of switching over was very painful, I'm pleased to say we have three functional phone numbers and they actually ring into the office (except when we have them forwarded to the answering service). Technology is a good thing - when it works. Note the statement at the top of the home page with our official phone numbers and address.
Thanks to our customers and friends for being patient.
