New Hardcover BookNew Hardcover Book
The BUB sponsored Bonneville Speedweek concluded recently, which provides a good segue to talk about one of our new books: Bonneville, World’s Fastest Motorcycles,

The book is a wonderful compilation of wonderful Salt Flats photos taken by Horst Rösler, a very talented German photographer who can be found at most of the major motorcycle events in the US and Europe.

This new hardcover book will be available for $29.95 plus shipping on about 10/15/07. Horst and I had a few differences of opinion during the time we worked on the book, but I have to say, he’s a great photographer and also provided the story that runs through the book. With help from Jacki Mitchell and Deb Shade on our end, we’ve created what I think is one hell of a nice book. The photos capture the essence of the salt. These are images you can walk into, you almost expect to find crystals of salt littering the desk after turning the pages. The big streamliners normally steal the headlines in any magazine story or book and while Horst gave us images of the ‘liners like the BUB record holder and the twin engine Ack Attack. He also gave us photos and stories about the “run what ya brung” bikes and riders. Riders like the guy who rode his Shovelhead to the Salt just to run it, and the riders with the new ‘Busas and the old Sportsters. Men and women who just wanna know, “whatwillitdo?”

Progress
We currently have three or four books in pre-production at the same time, which is why I’ve been working on Saturday. More important for anyone who wants to check on the progress of these books, we’ve added a little blurb on the home page to keep you informed. Please note the release date is the date we expect to have them here, it takes another 6 to 8 weeks to get them onto the shelves of your local bookstore or shop. If you order from us and order a little early, we will just hold the order and ship the book the minute it shows up. Multi-book orders that include one of the new books will be shipped in our normal speedy manner. If the new book isn’t in yet, we will just ship that book later at no additional shipping expense to you.

Personal Projects
We are nearing the end of the riding season here in the Great White North. Oh sure, you can still get in some rides, but those nice days are numbered. For me, the end of the riding season has a silver lining - it's time to head back out into the garage and get back to work on the old Henry J. I have some blocks of aluminum that will make good lowering blocks at the rear, a new steering rack to install, and a friend from the street rod industry who promised to come over and help me plan and route the steering linkage. As I've said before, working on a project in a semi-warm garage is a nice way to spend a cold winter's evening.

Free Books
We recently shipped a bunch of books to men and women serving in Iraq. I’m more than happy to hand out some books and certainly hope they entertain and inform. I only wish the GIs we’re sending these to could read them while sitting in their favorite chair at home with family and friends.

Wolfgang’s Dealers
With the help of our new super-salesman, Rick Thompson, we are placing more of our bookracks in motorcycle and hot rod shops. Three of our favorites include the Arlen Ness Shop in Dublin, California; Rodney’s in Little Rock, Arkansas; and Strokers Dallas. All have the big rack of Wolfgang books and report that the books sell well with little prompting. So if you’re near any of these stores, be sure to stop by and check out the big rack of Wolfgang books.
