A few months back I talked about the installation of the Ultra Ride on my 2004 FLH Bagger. The recent trip to Sturgis was my first chance to really put the stabilizer through its paces. I can only say that this is a GREAT product. When I bought the kit I thought the effects would only be apparent at higway speeds, but the bike simply feels more planted at any speed.
What you might call the high-speed wobble, or Harley Hoola, or whatever, is essentially gone. And that’s a good thing. There’s a more subtle feeling of security though, that’s apparent at almost any speed. The bike becomes a more stable platform.
The unit I installed is from Terry Components (terrycomp.com), but there are some very similar products from other manufacturers and I can only say one thing: a stabilizer kit will make a good bike that much better – at any speed.
Late model Baggers are some of the best riding bikes Harley’s ever built. Make yours w-a-a-a-y better with the addition of a stabilizer kit.
