Many devices offer the ability to read eBooks; desktop computers, phones, Kindles, iPads, Nooks, iPhones and more have the ability to read eBooks. The following are some ways for you to read your new Wolfgang Publications eBook.
Remember: not all eReaders are created equal. Some eReaders interpret eBooks differently--the same way some browsers see some websites differently--so your results may vary with the reader you choose.
Note, too, that most of these instructions apply to the ePub format; the only device/software combination that will work with the .mobi format is the Kindle.
First, log in.
Go to wolfpub.com/user and login with the username and password you were emailed when you made your purchase. If you did not receive that email, then go to http://www.wolfpub.com/user and click on the "Request New Password" tab, and enter the email address you used to place your order. You'll be emailed a temporary login and password.
Once in, you'll be taken to your home page where you'll see the purchases that you've made.
There will be a "Files" tab towards the top of that page. Click it. You'll see a list of the files that you've purchased.
You can download your eBooks to your hard drive from here. Be careful: you can only download them a few times, and then the system prevents further downloads.
Read with iPad
If you have an iPad or an iPhone, simply copy the epub version to your iTunes, sync your iPad or iPod, and open in iBooks.
Transfer with DropBox
If you have an account at dropbox.com (they're free), you can download your eBook (this works only for the epub format in Nook and iPad/iPhone/iPod) to your dropbox account, then switch to your hardware reader, open the dropbox account in your browser, and then your device will open that eBook in your preferred reader (most likely iBook on the iPad, and the standard Nook software on the Nook).
Read with Ibis
Go to http://ibisreader.com/ with your web browser. Create a free account and upload your ebook into your free account. You'll now be able to read it on the web, and it will look very, very close to how it will appear in your iPad or Nook.
Read with MagicScroll
Go to http://www.magicscroll.net/ with your web browser. Create a free account and upload your ebook into your free account. You'll now be able to read it on the web, and it will look very, very close to how it will appear in your iPad or Nook.
Read with Nook
Download the Barnes and Noble Nook reader for your Mac or PC. Get it here: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/u/free-nook-apps/379002321/.
When you've downloaded and installed, just open the ePub from the File/Open menu, and you'll be able to read it in your application.
Also, under View/View Settings, you'll be able to change the layout, the font, the type size, the line spacing and other variables. By doing this, you'll be able to see how a reader might change your book to suit their particular tastes.
Note that at the time of this writing the Nook Desktop Reader is a bit buggy and its rendering may differ slightly from that of your hardware Nook.
Read with the Kindle Previewer
In order to read your Amazon-formatted .mobi book, get a Windows or Mac application called Kindle Previewer here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html?ie=UTF8&docId=1000234621. It's free. Once installed--it takes about a minute--just open your .mobi version in that program.
The same caveats apply as above: a very, very close approximation to the Kindle, but not exact. Note, too, that the images will be in color on your computer but in shades of gray on your Kindle.
So, go ahead an take a look, and you can use the markup and notes tools in the free AdobeĀ Acrobat Reader to mark any errors that you see. Once we get your reviewed copy back, we'll convert to ebook and publish.
Read with your Kindle
Simply plug your Kindle into your desktop computer and wait for it to show up on your desktop. Open the Kindle (it looks like another drive on your desktop) and drag the .mobi file into it. Unplug, and your new book will show up in your Kindle list.
Read with Adobe Editions
You can also see it in Adobe Editions Software available here: http://www.adobe.com/products/digitaleditions/. This software, however, usually displays your eBook in a format furthest from what it might look like in an e-reader.
Also, you can get several apps that will allow you to download Adobe Digital Editions to your iPhone or iPad and read them there. BlueFireReader is the simplest: simply download and install it, then download and install DropBox (allows you to quickly and easily move files from one device to another), download your ePub to Dropbox, open the file on your iPad by selecting it in DropBox and doubletapping, then in the upper right hand corner of Dropbox, tap the square icon and choose BlueFire Reader to open your document.
This is also a fantastic way to read any Adobe Digital Encoded ePub on your iPad, meaning that you can buy a book from any online bookstore and as long as its in your Adobe Digital Library you can read it this way with BlueFire Reader.
